Don't take yourself too seriously . . .

We can be forgiven for wanting to portray a professional image when dealing with clients, or posting to social media. And I think with certain professions, that's really important (think surgeons, dentists, lawyers etc) but there is an opportunity for many of us to show more of our personality and that we are human!

Not taking ourselves too seriously and allowing us to be a little more vulnerable just shows that we are human - and people generally like doing business (and spending time) with people who show their personality.

If you regularly create video content for your business, chances are you'll have access to a library of bloopers, out-takes and blunders which could easily be transformed into a short (and hopefully funny) blooper reel. If you have a videographer who is creating your content for you, you just need to ensure that they keep recording when bloopers occur, as often the funniest parts are just after the actual blunder with people laughing and sometimes even mocking themselves!

These can make perfect light hearted social media posts, reinforcing to your clients and network that you are human and that you don't take yourself too seriously. You may be surprised, these blooper reels may actually be remembered for longer than your 'standard' content videos.

The trick here is to keep them short & punchy (60 seconds is plenty) and throw in a few good effects, beeps and background music and you're all set. Have some fun with it, and remember this is all about letting your network know you don't take yourself too seriously, even though you may take your client relationships extremely seriously.

Here's a recent example created for Nicole Gervasi Property Group, enjoy!
